چکیده

Approximate analytical closed energy formulas for semirelativistic Hamiltonians of the form σ p p +m +V (r) are obtained within the framework of the auxiliary field method. This method, which is equivalent to the envelope theory, has been recently proposed as a powerful tool to get approximate analytical solutions of the Schrödinger equation. Various shapes for the potential V (r) are investigated: power-law, funnel, square root, and Yukawa. A comparison with the exact results is discussed in detail. Schrödinger upper bounds to semirelativistic eigenvalues

Problems posed by semirelativistic Hamiltonians of the form H = √ m2 + p2+V (r) are studied. It is shown that energy upper bounds can be constructed in terms of certain related Schrödinger operators; these bounds include free parameters which can be chosen optimally.

Lagrange mesh, relativistic flux tube, and rotating string.

The Lagrange mesh method is a very accurate and simple procedure to compute eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of nonrelativistic and semirelativistic Hamiltonians. We show here that it can be used successfully to solve the equations of both the relativistic flux tube model and the rotating string model, in the symmetric case. Verifications of the convergence of the method are given.

Exact solutions for semirelativistic problems with non-local potentials

It is shown that exact solutions may be found for the energy eigenvalue problem generated by the class of semirelativistic Hamiltonians of the form H = √ m2 + p2+ V̂ , where V̂ is a non-local potential with a separable kernel of the form V(r, r′) = −∑i=1 vifi(r)gi(r). Explicit examples in one and three dimensions are discussed, including the Yamaguchi and Gauss potentials. The results are used to...

Discrete Spectra of Semirelativistic Hamiltonians

We review various attempts to localize the discrete spectra of semirelativistic Hamiltonians of the form H = β √ m2 + p2+V (r) (defined, without loss of generality but for definiteness, in three spatial dimensions) as entering, for instance, in the spinless Salpeter equation; every Hamiltonian in this class of operators consists of the relativistic kinetic energy β √ m2 + p2, where β > 0 allows...
